EN8D

EN8D Grade Introduction:
En8D steel bar is a medium carbon steel grade of engineering steel that offers greater strength and hardness as compared to the low carbon grades. The formability and weldability of En8d are fair when using accepted shop practices. While machinability is good, this grade responds very well to forging and heat treating. It is one of the most used grades of carbon steel. People requiring better properties such as strength, etc generally go for alloy steel if En8d or equivalent grades are not suitable.

EN8D Grade Application:
Typical applications of En8d steel round bar include gears, shafts, axles, bolts, studs, crane wheels, and machine parts.
